BathRD Weekender: Saturday Sevens at Wellsway School, Keynsham
See event details

A event on Saturday 7th June. The event starts at 13:30.

One day, Two Sevens tournaments, Eight teams, Eight games

Join Bath RD on the first day of of what some people are calling an 'ambitious' BIG ROLLER DERBY WEEKENDER!

Saturday will see a rookie level 7s tournament, and an inter/Advanced level 7s tournament. Four teams in each level, playing two games each (winner plays winner, loser plays loser). Roller Derby 7s is short-form Roller Derby with just 7 players on a team, one 21 minute period, and no team time-outs - the perfect first game for all those friends/colleagues/people in the supermarket that you've tried and failed to explain the niche sport you do to. There will be cake, merch, and the now legendary BathRD Game Day playlist!

ROOKIE TOURNAMENT
Bath Roller Derby || Swansea City Roller Derby || Surrey Roller Girls || Milton Keynes Roller Derby

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED TOURNAMENT
Chinese Nations Roller Derby || Swansea City Roller Derby || Cornwall Roller Derby || London Docklands Fight Railway

WEEKEND TICKETS
Join us on the Sunday for YET MORE Roller Derby. BathRD's B Team, Romans, will be playing on home ground against a TBA local (ish) team PLUS an OTA (Open to all) mixed scrim. Why not join us for both days! If you join us for the whole weekend, it'd be great if you can help us cover our costs with two full price tickets, or you can make use of the Spectator Open Concession ticket option. https://hdfst.uk/secret/b7da8psz05

Headfirst made us choose the child:adult ratio, but we trust you to know how many smalls you can safely wrangle. :)

OPEN CONCESSION
The Open Concession ticket is open to all who might need it. Children, Students, if you're only staying half the day, or if things are just a bit tight right now. Half price, no questions asked.

WHAT IS ROLLER DERBY 7S?
Like Rugby Sevens, Roller Derby Sevens is a shorter, faster paced, game format. The rules on the track are the same WFTDA rule set you know and love (you DO know it all, right?!), but with a few notable differences in the game structure:
- 7 skaters on a team (rather than the usual 15)
- One, 21 minute period (rather than two, 30 min halves)
- No Official Reviews, or Team Time Outs
- Just FOUR penalties to foul out
