A
event
on Saturday 21st September. The event starts at 14:00.
Over the past two years, the Peeka Hurt You Cup (PHUC) has raised over £5,000 for Dorothy House and brought people together from all over the Derbyverse. Now it's time to do it all over again! So don your brightest sportswear, slap on the glitter, and join Bath Roller Derby in celebrating Amy Buller and raising money for charity!
The day will feature three games of different levels, with an option for all skaters (see "The Games" for more details). There are also spectator tickets available and we'd love to have you join us to cheer on the teams.
Why are we holding this event?
In September 2020, our beloved league member Amy passed away a few days before her 40th birthday, following a long illness with breast cancer. We held the first Peeka Hurt You Cup in September 2022 and because she meant so much to so many of us in the roller derby community, we're making PHUC an annual event.
As before, we will be donating all profits from this year's #PHUC to Dorothy House, a local charity that hugely supported her and has also touched the lives of many of our other league members past and present. You can find out more about their work here: https://www.dorothyhouse.org.uk/.
NB: Please check the game descriptions carefully and make sure you are buying your ticket for the right game. Some sell out really quickly, so if you buy the wrong one we can't guarantee being able to get you a spot in your preferred. Sorry!
The Games
- Rookie, Lower Intermediate and Returning Level (All-gender): Suitable for players with 0-10 games experience, who have been signed off to scrim by their league. Skaters returning from a long break and looking to build up confidence are also welcome to play in this game, providing they are happy they can play at a safe and suitable level. First whistle: 14:00.
- Inter/Advanced (WFTDA): Suitable for anyone with 5+ games experience who plays under the WFTDA ruleset. First whistle: 15:45.
- Inter/Advanced (OTA): Suitable for any player with 5+ games experience. First whistle: 17:30.
** Please note that only those who are currently affiliated with a league and signed off as 'safe to scrim' by that league will be eligible for skater tickets **
Pricing
We want to raise money for charity through this event, but we want as many people to be able to participate in the day as possible. We are therefore running it on a "Pay What You Can" basis, with prices starting from £12 + booking fee for a skater ticket. The £12 ticket ensures we can cover our running costs (assuming we sell out, so please help us spread the word!). However, the booking system includes the option to pay more than that if you would like to do so. All profits raised from the event will go towards Dorothy House. Ticket sales and sign up details will be available on the 3rd of August at 1PM. Last year skater tickets sold out very quickly so if you want a place don't leave it too long!
