See event details

A event held at PRSC on Tuesday 31st October. The event starts at 18:30.

(Tickets are pay-what-you-can with a suggested minimum donation of £3.00 in order to help cover venue costs. There are some limited free tickets as well for comrades who will struggle to contribute this.)

This session will start by discussing episodes 5 & 6 of Blowback S4 - covering the web of USA interests and terrorist connections from the Soviet withdrawal all the way up to 9/11. Discussion will focus on how parts of the government work behind the scenes to get what they want through extralegal means - secret alliances, criminal contacts, and more.

Reading/listening list:
- Episodes 5-6 of Blowback Season 4 (Book a ticket to receive a link to the podcast)

Doors open at 18:00 for a 18:30 start.
------------------------
What stance should socialists take when their country is involved in a war? How does the media twist perceptions of conflicts in order to garner support at home? Do foreign interventions ever achieve their stated goals? Using season 4 of Blowback as our starting point, we will discuss these questions and many more across bi-weekly sessions at PRSC. All knowledge levels welcome, come along and get involved!

These sessions will be held at 18:30 on Tuesdays on Oct 17th, Oct 31st, Nov 14th, Nov 28th, and Dec 12th, with two more in the new year.

Don't worry if you haven't listened to the previous episodes or come to earlier sessions! Each session will stand alone.
